Stray Voltage Solutions

There are three basic solutions to stray voltage problems:

  1. Eliminate or minimize the voltage causing the problem,
  2. Isolate the voltage from any equipment in the vicinity of the potential animal contact points, or
  3. Install an equi-potential plane that will keep all possible animal contact points at the same voltage potential.
The right solution for the situation depends on:
Remember, a remedy based on an incorrect diagnoses can cause an even worse problem, so make sure you get the help you need.

If the stray voltage problem can be traced to a breakdown or malfunction of a specific piece of equipment, section of farmstead wiring, or an electric fence, the solution tends to be pretty straightforward. Get the problem piece of equipment or system replaced or repaired.
